Peter Thomas isn’t going to stand around idle and allow his name to be soiled with accusations of unpaid rent on his Bar ONE lounge. He’s speaking up.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star was recently stuck with a $100,000 lawsuit for falling behind on his financial responsibility for the ATL hotspot. His landlord Eloshua Elliott and Showtime Cafe claim Thomas “breached a lease agreement by failing to pay rent and other fees including late fees, bank charges, real estate property taxes and unpaid utilities.”
Court documents allege Thomas failed to pay his $10,000 monthly rent from March 2013 to the end of the year, as well as $5,000 in late fees. Elliott also listed Cynthia Bailey‘s property– where she houses her modeling agency and talent company– as being $29,000 behind on rent.
Yet in an interview with StraightFromTheA.com, Thomas says he takes no blame in the lounge’s foreclosure and is pointing the finger back at Elliott.
“For the fact that these two guys, who are my landlords … didn’t pay the rent that I was paying them every month for over a year. They was upside down on the property but I wasn’t aware of that until I got the letter from the bank saying not to give them money anymore,” he explained.
Thomas said he plans to partner with a group to repurchase the property when it hits the market and considers the entire situation a misunderstanding.
